Welcome to the Academy Shenick Jackson

Shenick Tysha Jackson is a single mother, leader, mentor, and God-Fearing woman, whose life, took a dramatic shift on July 26th, 1995. Shenick survived a horrid car accident that left her paralyzed from the neck down. After being informed by doctors that she would be permanently disabled and would never walk again, Shenick chose to believe another diagnosis; a diagnosis of courage, strength, perseverance, trust and faith in God.

After spending 3 months rehabilitating in the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, Shenick achieved a complete miraculous recovery. Shenick has since served as a Praise and Worship choir member, Sunday school teacher and altar worker at The City of Refuge Church formerly known as Greater Bethany Community Church, under the leadership of Bishop Noel Jones. Shenick is raising her 3 beautiful children, ages 18, 15, and 7. She stands today as a pillar of grace and is passionate about sharing hope and encouragement with other spinal and disabled patients. Shenick desires to help those who are physically disabled to deal with their emotions by sharing her feelings and testimony of triumph. She wishes to surround them with compassion, love and understanding.

Shenick’s goals include attending school for ministry to acquire an evangelistic license, counseling patients and single mothers, speaking words of truth at special events, documenting her life’s story by writing a book and having her life created into a documentary for film. Shenick is planning to have a website accessible to patients encouraging them to chat online about personal experiences. Shenick’s life proves that confidence in yourself and faith in God can conquer anything, if you just believe.
