Bringing Mobility to many!

Making History in Mazatlán!

Today, Mazatlán witnessed an unforgettable and truly inclusive event that brought hope, mobility, and opportunity to our community. Together, we celebrated unity, generosity, and progress with impactful initiatives that will leave a lasting legacy.

Here’s what we achieved:
Mobility for Seniors: Wheelchairs were donated to seniors with disabilities, giving them the gift of freedom and independence.
Supporting Emerging Talent: Scholarships in the arts were awarded to young, emerging artists, empowering them to pursue their creative dreams.

Accessibility for All: The inauguration of the elevator at the Galería Ángela Peralta marked a major milestone in making art and culture accessible to everyone, regardless of physical ability.

“We made history today!” said Michael Dergar, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors, supporters, and volunteers who made this day possible.

This event stands as a testament to what we can achieve when we come together with compassion and a shared vision of inclusion. Here’s to many more steps forward for our community!

Thank YOU all sponsors and The Alhambra and Alhambra Rotary Club for helping us to bring mobility to many living with disabilities in the World!

Your dedication and generosity is invaluable. Your financial support helps increase public awareness and inclusion but most of all, it provides wheelchairs for people living with disabilities to help them to be included as part of a community and a loving family.

According to The World Health Organization, a wheelchair is one of the most commonly used assistive devices for enhancing personal mobility, which is a precondition for enjoying human rights and living in dignity. Wheelchairs assist people with disabilities to become productive members of their communities. About 10% of the global population, i.e. about 650 million people, have disabilities (1). Studies indicate that, of these, some 10% require a wheelchair. In 2003, it was estimated that 20 million of those requiring a wheelchair for mobility did not have one. There are indications that only a minority of those in need of wheelchairs have access to them, and of these very few have access to an appropriate wheelchair.

On behalf of the Academy of Special Dreams Foundation, we recognize and thank each one of our supporters for helping us to make a more inclusive society in the World. Thank you very much for your support and generosity.

With appreciation,

Michael Dergar and The Academy Family.

Thank you, Mazatlán, for being a part of this journey!
