Upon completing middle school, Brian To was diagnosed with Tourettes, a neuropsychiatric disorder in which a person has physical and vocal tics. This disability created many challenges, especially during school. Brian found it difficult to stay focused in his classes. On top of mental stress, his medications caused fatigue and forced him to follow an irregular sleeping pattern. The days became tougher and tougher to get through. Fortunately, he found a solution through his passion for music. He found that his Tourettes was alleviated while playing the piano. Classically trained in piano since the age of five, Brian plays a wide variety of genres including but not limited to Pop, R&B, and Hip Hop. He also mastered the ability to play by ear through years of practice. Aside from the piano, Brian also plays the guitar, bass, and violin. He enjoys composing, creating covers of his favorite songs, producing instrumentals, and performing. He placed 2nd in his school talent show in both his Sophomore and Junior year. After high school, Brian hopes to double-major in Business and Music, to accomplish his dream of being a producer in the music industry.
