Congratulations Jhovana Cecena for your Working Artists Fund

Jhovana Cecena from Riverside, California received a second Working Artists Fund from the Academy of Special Dreams Foundation.

Jhovana was born in January 19, 1991. She showed an interest in drawing at the age of 6 and has not put the pencil down since. Over the years she’s been discovering new mediums. Her favorite now is painting in acrylic. In her words ” I want to paint to give money to poor people, oh yeah and buy more canvas too.”

This Found is focused on the disabled adult artist who actively pursues a career or vocation in any artistic field and who occasionally requires financial support to further that career or vocation.

“One way we achieve our mission to increase public awareness of the creative talents of people with disabilities is to arrange for cash grants for disabled artists who are following their dreams to participate in the Arts,” said Michael Dergar, President and CEO of the Pasadena-based Academy of Special Dreams Foundation. “Jhovana’s personal story is truly inspirational.”

In an effort to assist the special needs community to achieve their artistic dreams, the Academy of Special Dreams will offer a limited number of cash scholarships and working artists founds to those participants who submit their artistic expressions in the competitions sponsored by the Special Academy.
