City Silhouette by Cara Mark

My name is Cara Mark, I was diagnosed with optic nerve atrophy at a young age. I am legally blind and have low vision in both eyes that cannot be corrected. It has taken years to accept that I have a disability and learn to advocate for myself.

I have a love and deep appreciation for both classical and modern art forms. I began taking pictures with my phone, then purchased a digital camera in 2019. I started learning about photography from books I purchased from the library. As a full-time student, I have been able to incorporate a few photography and art classes into my curriculum.

I have a passion for botanical, street, candid portraits, and cinematic images. I try to set a tone and mood with my images. I’m excited to continue to learn new techniques and methods to push my creativity further. Eventually I would like to travel more to new places and cultures with my camera.

The Academy of Special Dreams Foundation is honored to have Cara Mark as our Featured Artists! Welcome to the Academy Cara Mark! Your are a true inspiration in the world of arts. Congratulations.
