Pasadena (CA) November 11, 2013 – The Academy of Special Dreams Foundation announced today that it has been honored with a prestigious 2013 Certificate of Recognition presented by the City of Los Angeles at Los Angeles City Hall.
“We are very excited to be recognized for the City of Los Angeles,” said Michael Dergar, CEO and Founder of the Academy of Special Dreams Foundation. “Our mission is to increase public awareness about the creative talents of artists with disabilities so they can be successful in the arts. We are proud of our accomplishments this year which include sponsoring exhibitions by our artists in residence at prestigious local museums, colleges and universities.”
Being recognized gives donors and volunteers more confidence that this is a credible organization. This award is a form of recognition for the special needs community. We especially give many thanks to those individuals who have made financial contributions to help achieve the Special Academy’s mission to increase public awareness, recognition and appreciation of the creative talents of people with disabilities by providing opportunities that encourage, promote and showcase their artistic expressions.
