Cara Mark

My name is Cara Mark, I was diagnosed with optic nerve atrophy at a young age. I am legally blind and have low vision in both eyes that cannot be corrected. It has taken years to accept that I have a disability and learn to advocate for myself.

I have a love and deep appreciation for both classical and modern art forms. I began taking pictures with my phone, then purchased a digital camera in 2019. I started learning about photography from books I purchased from the library. As a full-time student, I have been able to incorporate a few photography and art classes into my curriculum.

I have a passion for botanical, street, candid portraits, and cinematic images. I try to set a tone and mood with my images. I’m excited to continue to learn new techniques and methods to push my creativity further. Eventually I would like to travel more to new places and cultures with my camera.
