Welcome to the Academy of Special Dreams Foundation Angel Sebastian Lopez Cabrera. It is a pleasure for the Academy of Special Dreams Foundation to support with micro bossiness grants to emerging artists. Our mission goes beyond bringing public awareness or recognition of our community with special needs. Sebastián, a 19-year-old man with a birth disability called Myelomelingocele and Hydrocephalus, patient at the Rehabilitation Center Children’s Telethon (Telethon) was where his taste for painting was born since one of his rehabilitation therapies was painting with master Miguel who at the same time is a teacher in the house of the Oaxacan culture where he also took classes and learned more techniques, so from an early age age has dedicated himself to the elaboration of pictures using his imagination, creativity and some crafts with recyclable materials etc. At the age of 14, in April 2017, I participated in the Symposium Painting International organized by the company Mezcal Oro de Oaxaca where its owner Mrs. Isabel López invited him to be part of this project, in which international and national painters participated, having the opportunity to learn from them experiences and some techniques, having an exhibition at the Museum of Painters with the works that they elaborated being in said event. He also did altruistic work as he donated one of his paintings for a auction and with the proceeds help the victims of the earthquake of September 2017. In 2018 I take courses at the Casa Luna art workshop with the teacher Luna Ortiz. On December 29, 2021, he was appointed State Commissioner of Human Rights for the Free and Sovereign Development of Oaxaca in the Ibero-American Human Rights Commission for the Development of Americas chaired by the Lieutenant, Doctor Manuel Guzmán García and Renewing the position but now as State Commissioner for Care and Protection of young people with disabilities on September 22, 2022. On July 7, 2022, he was invited by Mrs. Maru Pombo, the Fundación Smilee A.C, the Academy of Special Dreams Foundation and the Maestro Michael Dergar at the exhibition Bridging Frontiers inclusion throughof art to exhibit his work entitled Bugambilas en Primavera.
