Bringing Awareness to Artists in the Special Needs Community

My name is Christian Ramirez and I am 18 years old. I am a senior at high School. I am deaf but I was born hearing. I became sick and then deaf. I don’t know why. I live with my dad and sister, her husband and daughter. My mother died in Mexico when I was about 11 or 12 years old. When she died I was very sad.

I didn’t want to be a hard of hearing! I wanted to talk! I try to talk, but I can’t. It is easy for me to sign in ASL. Okay, so I would like to work as a carpenter or wood furniture designer. My father has already taught me a few things about working with wood. I will go to LATTC for two years to become a carpenter. My friends and I like to free dance to hip hop music. We also record ourselves free styling, it’s fun.
